LIBRARY AND READINGS

We have a well stocked library and a reading hall to promote reading habit among the students. The library has a total collection of 6,000 books, related to various subjects such as English, Maths, Accountancy, Economics, Commerce and Business studies, Physics, Chemistry, Biology Computers, GK, EVS, Moral Science, General Science, History Civics, Geography, Social Studies, Drawing, Atlas, Physical Education, Tamil, Malayalam, French, Hindi, Sociology, Home Science, Political Science, English Fictions and Non Fictions, Reference Books and Solved test papers. The library also provides online reading and facilities. Library has a total collection of 24 magazines related to GK, Science, Current Events and Kids World. Library also has a collection of 7 daily national newspapers of various languages.

Rules and Regulations for the Members

Library Hours

  • Working days : Monday to Saturday
  • Issue and Return : 8.15 am to 5.00 pm (Monday to Friday)
  • Issue and Return : 8.15 am to 3.00 pm (Saturday)

Entitlement for Issued Books

  • Teachers : 4 Books (One Month)
  • Other Staff : 04 Books (One Month)
  • Students of std IX – XII : 02 Books (Seven Days)
  • Students of std VI – VIII : 01 Book (Seven Days)

  • Std IV to VIII             :           Library Period
  • Std IX – XII               :           Monday to Saturday

Rules and Regulations to be followed in the Library

  • Maintain silence in the Library.
  • Students must have an ID, a Note and a purpose to be in the library.
  • Sign-in and out.
  • Students are expected to be respectful of themselves, others, and the space (i.e. Work quietly).
  • Handle all library materials with care.
  • Never cut, tear, or write on any library materials.
  • Leave the library hall in the same condition as it was when you entered.
  • Place your chair in place before you leave.
  • Put all materials away when you finish with them.
  • Special permission may be needed for students to work together.
  • Eatables are not allowed in the library.
  • Readers should vacate their seats 10 minutes before the closing time of the library.

Circulation Policies

  • The member is responsible for all the books taken in his / her Name. The member will have to produce his / her ID card at the time of borrowing books.
  • Return or renew books on time.
  • Books may be renewed only if they are brought to the library.
  • If there is a hold placed on a book, it may be renewed only one time.
  • The librarian is empowered to recall books at any time if necessity arises.
  • Reference books, such as encyclopedia and dictionaries are to be used only in the library.
  • Issue of books may be refused to the defaulters.

Overdue Materials

  • Return overdue books as soon as possible so that others can make use of it.
  • Students with an overdue book may not be allowed to take additional materials until the overdue book is returned.
  • A fine of Rs 1 per day will be levied for later return.
  • Students are responsible for any books checked out in their names.
  • Letter will be sent for books which are overdue for a month or more.
  • Books overdue by three months are considered lost and require immediate payment for replacement.

Lost Materials

  • For any lost book the amount can be deposited for replacing the book or can be replace by the student with the same title or a similar title with the permission of the librarian.
  • Minor repairs will be done as needed; however students who have damaged items beyond repair will be expected to pay the replacement cost of the book.
