You don’t have to be great to start, but you have to start to be great.

The morning assembly in Sacred Heart International School resembles a holy place. The atmosphere is all calm and quiet. As the students and teachers congregate in the ground, the school gates are closed to remind the late comers to be punctual next time. The students stand in rows class wise, once the Physical Education instructor gives commands. The tranquil early morning hour welcomes one and all to the school campus as the premise resounds with the prayer song by the school choir, followed by the lord’s prayer; Our father in heaven, holy be your name… The lord’s prayer is succeeded by reading verses from the Holy Bible and enunciation of words of wisdom from Thirukkural. Newspapers cannot be defined by the second word—paper, but by the first word—news. To make our children update with everyday news, students will read out them categorically as State, Nation, World, and Sports.

In order to keep the heart unwrinkled, to be hopeful, kindly, cheerful, and reverent, our school wishes children on their birthday in the school assembly, with a musical treat and birthday cards which will be handed over by the Principal. Apart from these, as supplementary information, students present English Today, highlighting the appropriate way of using English in our day to day life. Since discipline is the bridge between goals and accomplishments, our school assembly integrates etiquettes to be followed in school, which will be presented by a student. Keeping in mind that good health is one of life’s greatest blessings, the morning assembly inculcates health tips also. As a note of honour to the winners in different competitions, prize distribution will also be a part of our assembly. The assembly will be wrapped up with the Tamil Anthem. On every Thursday our assembly exhibits a skit from the students that takes place class wise, which aims at nurturing qualities of higher rank in children.

Children are not things to be moulded, but are people to be unfolded; following this thought Sacred Heart International provides platform for KG students to conduct the assembly which makes them feel proud of themselves. The well thought-out assembly conducted class wise clarifies school activities and programmes, focusing on important days. Every child is given the opportunity and the platform to display their talent and present themselves as individuals.

Child is a beam of sunlight from the Infinite and Eternal, with possibilities of virtue and vice, but as yet unstained. We take pride in creating an ambience for learning that exhilarates and unfolds the true potential of every child, right from the assembly time. We call it- Praying and paving our way to eminence.
