The Junior Red Cross movement was started in Sacred Heart International School, Marthandam in the year 2014 with the motto of ‘I Serve’. The mission of this international movement is to initiate humanitarian service through the following principles of the Red Cross Society.
In Sacred Heart International School the JRC functions as three groups named Health, Service and Friendship (3 Principles of the JRC). The activities such as First Aid, Fire and Safety, Yoga, Helping the tribal people, Visiting hospitals, Helping the people affected by natural calamities etc are being done by our JRC team.
The JRC members and counsellors actively take part in district, state and national youth exchange programmes regularly. The JRC members write Primary, Secondary and State level exams every year. It’s proud to point out that the students of SHIS have been carrying out the activities of JRC in a commendable manner and also received accolades from all the officers concerned.
